delivering First Aid, CPR, Pool Lifeguard, Water Rescue, Open Water Rescue and aquatic training at your workplace, school, pool, camp, resort or community location.

Private group training delivered at your location

Reef Training & Aquatics provides private group training for businesses, schools, aquatic centres, councils, resorts, outdoor recreation providers, community groups and organisations across Australia.

Instead of sending staff to multiple public courses, we can bring training to your location and deliver it in a way that suits your team, your environment and your operational needs.

Our onsite training is especially useful for schools, camps, outdoor education providers, aquatic centres and organisations that run activities in or around water. We can deliver water rescue training, first aid training, CPR training and aquatic courses together, helping your team build practical emergency response skills in one coordinated training program.

This can be particularly valuable for groups that need staff to supervise aquatic activities, assist with school swimming programs, support camp activities, manage water-based excursions, work near pools or natural waterways, or respond confidently in a first aid or water rescue situation.

For Queensland schools, CARA guidelines are an important consideration when planning curriculum activities. The Queensland Department of Education states that CARA guidelines show the minimum safety standard expected for common curriculum activities, and schools must use the relevant guideline when preparing risk assessments for those activities. The CARA guideline for swimming in locations other than pools includes natural venues such as dams, lakes, rivers, non-surf beaches and other water environments, and notes that schools may need written risk assessment advice when engaging external expertise.

Reef Training & Aquatics can support schools and organisations with practical training that helps staff build capability around water safety, rescue response, CPR, first aid and emergency planning.

Training is delivered on behalf of ABC First Aid RTO 3399.

Australia wide on-site training

Reef Training & Aquatics can deliver private group training across Australia, including metropolitan, regional and remote locations.

Training can be arranged at:

  • Workplaces
  • Schools
  • Aquatic centres
  • Council pools
  • Resorts and hotels
  • Camp venues
  • Outdoor recreation centres
  • Community facilities
  • Remote worksites
  • Sporting clubs
  • Tourism venues
  • Natural aquatic locations, where suitable

For aquatic training, the location must be suitable for the course being delivered. Depending on the course, this may include access to a pool, lagoon, beach, dam, lake, river or other controlled training environment.

For First Aid and CPR training, we generally require a suitable indoor space with enough room for practical activities, CPR manikins, group work and trainer demonstrations.

Schools, camps and outdoor education providers

Onsite training is a strong option for schools, camp providers and outdoor education teams that supervise students in or around water. This may include school swimming programs, beach activities, canoeing and kayaking programs, outdoor education camps, recreation days, excursions, Duke of Ed activities, community water safety programs or activities near pools, beaches, rivers, lakes and dams.

Training can be delivered in a way that supports the practical needs of the group, including water rescue skills, CPR, first aid, emergency response and scenario-based learning.

For Queensland schools, training may also support staff capability when considering CARA requirements and local risk assessment processes for water-based activities.
Workplace training

Businesses, councils, resorts and aquatic facilities

We also provide onsite training for businesses, councils, resorts, aquatic centres and organisations that need staff trained together. This may include Pool Lifeguard training for aquatic facilities, Water Rescue training for staff working around water, First Aid and CPR training for workplace compliance, or Aquatic Technical Operator training for staff involved in pool operations.

Private group training can reduce disruption, keep staff together and allow training examples to be linked to the actual workplace or facility environment.

Examples of onsite training packages may include:

  • SISCAQU020 Perform
  • Water Rescues + CPR
  • SISCAQU020 Perform
  • Water Rescues + First Aid
  • SISCAQU029 Perform

  • First Aid and CPR for camp, outdoor education or tourism teams

Training can be tailored around the group, the environment and the outcomes required.

For schools, this may mean supporting staff who supervise swimming, water safety programs, camps or excursions.

For businesses, this may mean training staff to respond to workplace emergencies.

For aquatic centres and councils, this may mean training new lifeguards, refreshing current staff or building internal capability.

For resorts and tourism operators, this may mean combining water rescue, first aid and emergency response skills into one practical program.

Our training is hands-on, paper-free and delivered by experienced trainers who understand first aid, CPR, water rescue, lifeguarding, aquatic operations and emergency response.
