SISCAQU020/HLTAID009 Perform Water Rescues + CPR
This combined SISCAQU020 Perform Water Rescues and HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation course develops the practical skills and knowledge required to respond to aquatic emergencies, perform safe and effective water rescues, and provide CPR when needed.
Participants learn to assess rescue situations, select appropriate rescue techniques and equipment, manage casualties, and respond in line with current resuscitation and aquatic safety guidelines.
Learning Outcomes
By completing the combined SISCAQU020 Perform Water Rescues and HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation course, participants develop the practical skills required to respond to aquatic emergencies from rescue through to resuscitation.
Training focuses on assessing rescue situations, selecting appropriate rescue methods, using rescue equipment, safely recovering casualties from the water and providing CPR in line with current Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines.
This course is suitable for pool lifeguards, swim teachers, aqua exercise instructors, recreation staff and others who may be responsible for responding to an aquatic emergency.
