The Pool Lifeguard Renewal Including CPR course is designed for qualified pool lifeguards completing their annual skills update and reassessment in line with industry and workplace requirements. The course refreshes essential lifeguard knowledge, emergency response procedures, aquatic rescue skills and cardiopulmonary resuscitation so participants can continue working confidently and safely in supervised aquatic environments.
Learning Outcomes
The Pool Lifeguard Renewal Including CPR course refreshes the practical skills and knowledge required to continue working safely and confidently as a pool lifeguard. Training focuses on patron supervision, hazard identification, emergency response, aquatic rescue techniques, casualty management, communication and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
Participants must have previously completed the full SISSS00133 Pool Lifeguard Skill Set, or an equivalent recognised Pool Lifeguard qualification, before attending this renewal course.
This course includes CPR but does not include HLTAID011 Provide First Aid. Participants must hold a current First Aid certificate and provide evidence of this before attending.
Lifeguards who also need to renew or complete HLTAID011 Provide First Aid can book this training with Reef Training & Aquatics. First Aid is commonly scheduled on the day before the Pool Lifeguard Renewal course. Contact our team to enquire about available dates or to arrange both courses together.

This course is designed for qualified pool lifeguards who need to complete their annual renewal, refresh their practical rescue skills and update their CPR competency.
It is suitable for lifeguards working in aquatic centres, council pools, schools, resorts, leisure facilities and other supervised aquatic environments.
Participants must have previously completed the full SISSS00133 Pool Lifeguard Skill Set, or an equivalent recognised Pool Lifeguard qualification, and must hold a current HLTAID011 Provide First Aid certificate.
