The HLTAID014 Provide Advanced First Aid course develops the skills and knowledge required to assess and respond to complex first aid emergencies. Training is delivered in line with guidelines established by the Australian Resuscitation Council and other recognised Australian peak clinical bodies, with a focus on providing advanced care until emergency services arrive.
Learning Outcomes
The HLTAID014 Provide Advanced First Aid course is designed for people who may be required to manage complex first aid emergencies in workplace, community, recreation and public environments.
Participants develop the skills to assess casualties, coordinate an advanced first aid response, provide care for multiple or seriously injured people, use available first aid resources and continue monitoring casualties until emergency services take over.
The course is suitable for workplace first aid officers, supervisors, team leaders, event staff, aquatic personnel and others who may carry additional responsibility during an emergency.
