HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an Education & Care Setting (Express/Standard)
The HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an education and care setting course develops the skills and knowledge required to respond to first aid emergencies involving infants and children. Training is delivered in line with guidelines established by the Australian Resuscitation Council and other recognised Australian peak clinical bodies, with a strong focus on the types of incidents that may occur in childcare, education and care environments.
Learning Outcomes
The HLTAID012 course is designed for people working in education and care settings who may be required to respond to a first aid emergency involving an infant or child.
This includes early childhood educators, childcare workers, teachers, support staff and people working in outside school hours care or vacation care programs.
Training covers the practical skills needed to recognise and respond to common emergencies, including asthma and anaphylaxis, while following workplace procedures and current first aid guidelines.
Renewal: First aid training is generally recommended every three years, with the CPR component refreshed annually. Workplace, employer or industry requirements may require more frequent renewal.
